PRESIDENT Cyril Ramaphosa of South Africa is expected to officiate at the 115th edition of the Zimbabwe Agricultural Show (ZAS) on Friday, August 29, 2025.
Ramaphosa is a key ally of President Emmerson Mnangagwa.
Addressing the media during a post-Cabinet media briefing in Harare on Tuesday, Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services minister Jenfan Muswere confirmed the development.
“The show will be officially opened by His Excellency, President Cyril Ramaphosa of South Africa, this Friday,” said Muswere.
Last year’s event was officially opened by then Mozambican President Filipe Nyusi on August 26, alongside Mnangagwa.
Cabinet noted the update on the 115th edition of the ZAS, which kicked off on Monday and will run until Saturday, August 30, under the theme: “Building Bridges, Connecting Agriculture, Industry and Commerce”.
This year’s exhibition is organised around five dedicated sections, which are agri-produce, tobacco, cotton, livestock and the commercial exhibition, providing a comprehensive overview of the sector.
Muswere said the event has attracted significant international participation, with exhibitors from across Africa and beyond.
“Foreign participants from South Africa, Zambia, Malawi, Tanzania, Ghana, Nigeria, Pakistan, Palau and China are exhibiting at this year’s event,” Muswere told the media.
